Ye won’t find her in the Mediterranean, an’ she never set sail to the Caribbean either…
Aye, Capt’n Grace O’Malley sails the seas ‘round the isle of green…
Her ship be called the White Seahorse…
An’ if you see her colors in ye spyglass…
Ye best be warned…
Turn tail or it be Davy Jones locker ye be sure to see…

I sailed with the crew of the Black Skull…
Off the yardarm, the Seahorse came into view…
If we’d known we’d meet ye fate…
We’d come about, to live another day…
With a shot across our bow… an’ several more on our broadside,
the Seahorse was upon the Skull…
an’ there stood Capt’n Grace O’Malley…
As proud, as can be.

Curse of The White Seahorse!
In 2023, the artisans of Spooky Hollow Experience go back in time when pirates ruled the waters. Taken directly from a page in history, this year we bring forth the story of one of the most celebrated pirates of all time, Grace O’Malley.
From the shores of the isle of Ireland, Grace hailed. O’Malley’s list of accomplishments are vast. Dubbed the Pirate Queen, she once sought audience with Queen Elizabeth I, not once but twice! All of her achievements were nearly lost to the sands of time. Yet, the fine folk of Ireland failed to let her story fade. Today, the Pirate Queen Grace O’Malley’s story is alive and well.
What be the Curse of The White Seahorse, you might ask? The Black Skull, the resident Pirate ship of Spooky Hollow, was known across the seven seas. Yet upon this faring vessel was a curse. The curse of… snow! You see, every year the Black Skull made port in Spooky Hollow, the crew brought with them unseasonable snow!
The artisans of Spooky Hollow called upon Grace O’Malley to pillage, plunder, and take over the Black Skull in order to break the curse. Pirate Grace did our bidding with the cost of the Black Skull. On October 1, 2023, Grace O’Malley pulled into Port Hollow with her ship, proudly named The White Seahorse. Tagging behind the Seahorse was the remnants of the Black Skull.
O’Malley and her crew assured us that they broke the curse. The artisans believed the tale to be true. However, on the dawn of Halloween morn…
The curse of the Black Skull had returned!
As the light of the morning broke the darkness of the night, it revealed three or more inches of icy white snow!
We kicked off the Halloween season with our annual light-up ceremony on October 10th, where we welcomed Joe To Go. Captain Gracie hosted a trivia contest to name the number one Spooky Hollow fan. Two contestants partook in the contest with one claiming the title of Spooky Hollow’s Number One Fan! During the ceremony we did our best to break the curse by chanting “Snow, snow go away come again December 8th!”
The rest of October, mother nature gave us a taste of all the seasons. One morning we awoke to fog! The only thing missing from the display that morning was a fog horn.
This year’s new additions include Smudge the dragon, Marco the resident garden skeleton, Pua the pig, 3 new crocodiles, 3 new sharks, a new underwater scene, angry fish, the demolished pirate ship, a new sign, and Little Nicky (Skelly’s cousin).
